Water damage restoration in Coronado is a coastal job from start to finish. Homes in Coronado Village, oceanfront condo towers at Coronado Shores and waterfront houses in Coronado Cays all live in constant salt air and marine humidity, which slows natural drying and makes mold prevention a priority. They did a very good job! First the woman on the phone Iris was very helpful and booked us for the very next morning. The workers were punctual and friendly and bilingual and did a great job. Call building management or the HOA immediately so the source can be found and shut off, and let the owner above know. Then photograph your ceiling, walls and floors before moving anything. Once the water is stopped, we can extract and dry your unit. Responsibility between owners is something to confirm with your association and insurer.
Coronado is surrounded by water, and the air carries a lot of moisture most of the year. Wet materials release water slowly into air that is already humid. That is why we use dehumidifiers sized for the space and keep windows closed during drying, and why we measure moisture instead of relying on how things feel.
In many cases, yes. If the water was clean and caught early, lifting the carpet and pad and directing airflow at the wood floor and crawlspace can dry the structure without removing flooring. Long exposure or contaminated water changes the answer, so we assess each home individually.
Report the leak to your landlord or housing office first, since they authorize repairs. Take photos, move belongings to a dry area and stop the water if you can safely. If the owner or manager asks us to handle it, we can be there quickly from Point Loma.
