Carpet cleaning La Jolla homeowners can rely on starts with understanding what the ocean does to a floor. Walk into many homes in Bird Rock, Muirlands or La Jolla Farms and you will find pale wall-to-wall carpet in the bedrooms, wool area rugs over natural-stone floors and big windows that let the afternoon sun pour in. It is a beautiful combination, and it is also one that shows every footprint. Light carpet reveals the gray path from the patio slider to the kitchen long before the rest of the room looks tired.
Sand is the real enemy here. Each grain is sharp, and when it settles at the base of the pile it cuts the fibers every time someone steps on them. Vacuuming lifts some of it, but the finest sand sinks too deep. Salt is the second problem: it is hygroscopic, which means it pulls moisture from the marine air and can leave carpet near the ocean feeling slightly tacky or smelling stale on gray June mornings. Hot-water extraction dissolves the salt and flushes the sand out, and our rinse leaves the fibers soft instead of stiff.
Because many La Jolla homes pair carpet with marble, travertine or limestone, we protect those surfaces while we work, lay runners along hose routes and keep solutions off the stone. Wool rugs are tested for dye stability and cleaned with a wool-safe solution on site; silk and antique pieces are evaluated first, and we will be upfront if one is better left alone. Village condos with shared hallways and tight parking get a quick call ahead so we can plan truck placement and hose access. On foggy days drying leans toward the longer end of our 3–6 hour range, so we groom the pile and suggest running fans to speed things up.

They did a very good job! First the woman on the phone Iris was very helpful and booked us for the very next morning. The workers were punctual and friendly and bilingual and did a great job. Usually it is a mix of salt and old detergent. Salt from the ocean air draws in moisture, and soap left by a previous cleaning or a rental machine holds on to it. Our hot-water extraction dissolves both, and the zero-residue rinse leaves the fibers soft. Many La Jolla customers notice the difference the first time they walk on it barefoot.
Yes. We clean regular and wool area rugs on site, from $49 and $59. For rugs on marble, travertine or limestone we lift the rug, protect the stone underneath and make sure no cleaning solution reaches it. Wool dyes are tested first. Very delicate, silk or antique rugs are evaluated individually before we decide on the approach.

Usually 3–6 hours. Coastal fog and cool mornings put homes near the water toward the longer end, while a sunny, breezy afternoon can dry low-pile carpet much faster. Opening windows when the air is dry, or running fans and air conditioning, helps. Keep furniture off the carpet until it is completely dry.
